The difference is that when the TDC firing data must be entered manually. If you turn off TDC autoguider.

you need to turn it on....so the data you input ,can be sent to the torpedo....see link for a much better description

What i dont get, is there is no "send to TDC" button for the range dial, and if you "send to TDC" information from either the AOB or Speed dial, it automatically switched the range dial to 3000m?

Also what is the bearing dial next to the AOB dial for? its not linked to scope movement, but moves the AOB dial if moved??

Try turning the TDC button back to red, then move your scope.
You are moving scope when the button is green.

Thanks Trevally,

I have loaded Arclights scope mod included with Mega_mod, in a bid to provide me with a usable solution for firing.

The way i see it, i require to gain all needed info Speed / AOB / range, by using the scope. Range i will use scope, AOB i always judge myself, and speed through a timed pass (until i figure a different way), this i can do resonably quickly, but then i need to enter that info to TDC.

If as i think you are saying when the TDC is switched off, the bearing dial automates with scope movement, then that is fine, but ultimately i have to turn the TDC to manual to input the afore mentioned details.

So how do i send the range to TDC without a send button?, and indeed how will i ever send range when sending AOB and target speed to TDC, seems to strangely re-set the range dial to 3000m!??

This is what im not understanding?

What you can do is:-
  1. Aim scope at target.
  2. Press space to mark.
  3. Click follow target.
  4. Click red TDC button (turning it green)
  5. Set Speed and send.
  6. Set AOB and send.
  7. Set range or use stadi
  8. Click green TDC button (turning it red)
Note: your AOB and Bearing will track the target as it moves but your range will not.

Just before ready to fire - click TDC green again and re-set range.

Note2: When the TDC button is green - do not mouse into AOB or it will re-set to where you first set it.

Thanks, this seems like a good solution at present, i was thinking along similar lines last night in bed but was'nt sure of the best order.

I might even get to loose a torp in this game now Lol.

One more thing Trevally,

Any reason why on the Attack periscope the center vertical mils are numbered 5 on the fith then 10 and so on, yet on the Obs scope, despite seeming to be of the same distance, they are numbered 50 and 100 etc??

Also, the said mils are marked on the center reticle, but to the left in line with where the 1.5x mag text is, there is another verical mill set...what is the difference between the centre and left mils sets, and what was the left most mill set used for??

Oh and one other thing.. do i need to make adjustments for using a 1920x1200 res as oposed to the 1920x1080 res i've heard it was tested with.?

Thanks

Thanks Trevally...I was having that same range resetting problem.

the 5 = 50

or

Obs scope
(mast height x 100 / Mils x4= range) at x6zoom
(mast height x 100 / Mils = range) at 1.5zoom

Attack scope
(mast height x 1000 / Mils x4= range) at x6zoom
(mast height x 1000 / Mils = range) at 1.5zoom

Not sure what you are seeing here - can you post a screen shot

Sorry my mistake, its not the vertical center reticle hair that has the mils on it, because this is to the left of the scope view...but left again of that is another vertical reticle hair which also has mils on it but sapced wider apart....its this hair that im not sure of the use?
