Gato Deck Gun does not turn
I haven't played with a Gato boat in months to year(s). I have a full crew in the deck gun slots, deck gun is enabled, and the shells are loaded. I can not pivot the gun. The gun fires through the front of the sub and the shell hits the water. Presently, I disabled all mods. SH4 is patched to 1.5 U-boat missions. I am at Perth-Fremantle base around late September 1942. Never seen this problem with game before. I am wondering if I have some file left over from mod soup. Still no Gato deck gun pivot.
No matter what mod or mod version or plain vanilla game I played in the past, I have always been able to pivot the deck gun with past subs. Not this time! Any ideas of what file I am missing or wrong before having to reinstall the entire game? Present file overwrote an important one? I have U-boat missions complete install on a DVD so I have the original file data still. There is no mod soup error descriptions found in my MOD folders, !Backup or !Instlogs folders. were you able to move the gato gun in the past? Or has it always been busted?

Personally, I don't recommend running two supermods like GFO and TMO together. If you've enabled/disabled mods while on a patrol that may cause a problem. You may have to do a reinstall of the game. If you do, before adding JSGME or anything, make a copy of the game folder that way should this happen again you have a clean game install that you can grab files from.

I agree with ETR3.You have two "super mods" and they could be conflicting with each other in some way.
I would trim down all those mods you have in general as well as you have a nice mod soup going there. Cut out some of the ones that you can live without. Also you may want to start a new career so you are starting with fresh data. |

I only tested pivoting on a Tambor, too. Any ideas of what file/files might cause this? Problem fixed. I removed most of the SH4 file structure from windows explorer. Dragged and dropped files from my raw install of U-boat missions DVD backup (without any mods) into the SH4 folders. I have no idea of what file was missing or became corrupt. Deck gun pivoting restored. |
