And Speaking of maps....
I often get Radio Messages quoting Lat & Long. Now, I am assuming that these messages relate to something that is actually happening in-game (as opposed to just aural wallpapaer), and, if so, I would like to be able to make good 'go - no-go' decisions from info contained in-game.
I'm hoping I'm not just a dummy that has missed a method for determining position. I know that I played a game years ago that had the ability to switch between Kreigsmarine & English maps. Would be very useful, and preferable to having to run a LapTop on the side with Google Earth on just to follow the conversation.:06: |
Just "ear candy", Gryf.
But if you like, you can follow along, by counting the hacture marks along the sides of the chart (F5 screen) to get rough Lat/Long positions. SH4 in the UBoat addon, you can switch back 'n forth between KM grids and Lat/Long. Sadly, it hasn't been done for SH3. |

Nice. Didn't know that JScones had fixed the original that I remember using in AOD...way back when. As I recall, the original only converted KM grid to L/Lg.
Very nice indeed, tnx SS & JScones. :salute: |
Problem. Getting it to convert L/Lg to KMgrid?
Sitrep:A Input: AN9678 (MQK Code) Press: Convert button Output: 53°45.00 N, 8°14.00 E (located in Lat/Long fields) Cleared input box Sitrep:B Input: 53°45.00 N, 8°14.00 E (Lat/Long fields) Press: Convert button Output: <blank> (MQK Code) Messages -> Grid not in database. I think it's as it's always been. |
Here is an online one:

Hey, Ken! Long time. Oops, a quick look at your profile shows you've been around, just in the only threads I never frequent. :oops: Well, it's good to hear from you anyway. :salute: |

@Pisces
Got to agree there shipmate, I've tried chasing such before in the hope that maybe I could meet such and such an action, alas I've never found anything. We all know the radio chatter is just a environmental game filler tho, don't we ? ;) Best regards. Fubar2Niner |
:yeah:
Thanks all, for the valuable input - I'm not a great fan of sailing around for no apparent reason, so now I can just appreciate the radio traffic ror the atmospheric realism it brings (even if it interupts high TC transits on an annoyingly frequent basis. I know I could turn it off, but I think I'll live with it.) Will follow up on the map converters - thanks!) |
