Vault 001

This reminds of Fallout 3, doesn't it:

http://www.terravivos.com/

So, is the naive illustration of "preparation for nuclear war" depicted in F3's pre-war remains really just ironic fiction? :hmmm:

Imagine the impact of a 10 km asteroid on Earth, or an allout nuclear war,. or a lethal global epidemic. Would you book a place in one of these?

What if doomsday lasts longer than 1 year, which easily is the case in the above scenarios - does the worst case then become an even worse case? :88)

I wouldn't go into one of these, considering the mentioned scenarios. Depending on the circumstances, survival can be more horrifying than the perspective of death. I would prefer to stay with and assist those I feel love and/or loyalty for, and once the time has come consider honourful suicide, or just let things happen to me, depending on what "things" are.

At one time, all things come to an end, and we all have to leave the show. The only real question is how we leave it: yelling, strampling, and hysterically acting, or - well, differently.

:o
Yes it does. It so much does.
Jeez, some architects have clearly been gaming too much:doh:

If I'd book a place in one of those if I had the money? I don't think so. I don't think I could leave my friends to die while surviving myself.
Luckily I don't have to worry about this as I don't have the money and don't have the paranoia to think it's necessary:D

PS. we're all gonna die!!!!! Planet X is coming!!!!!!http://www.clothdiapernation.com/vbf...-scared002.gifhttp://www.clothdiapernation.com/vbf...-scared002.gif

Run rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to start another one
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave.

Why don't they just call it terracon.

25K for membership?

Looks legit.

Though they should have done some better homework in their "Tour" video, since it looks to me like they cleaned up a former missile silo or similar... and the grease streak running down that big blue door is a nice touch.

I think somebody swiped the concept straight out of the Fallout game universe, and is trying to make a business venture out of it - raising money to build by selling spots now. I'd wager that their "buyer's contract" indicates that "This is an investment, and no real product or service may exist at the time of signing... blah blah blah own risk and loss blah blah". Now, if they had all the sites built and tourable, that'd be a different story.

I can see this sort of thing getting more and more popular as 2012 rolls ever closer.

As long as I get a jumpsuit that says '001', I'm in.

At least you didn't say '007'.:03:

Turgidson:
Doctor, you mentioned the ratio of ten women to each man. Now, wouldn't that necessitate the abandonment of the so-called monogamous sexual relationship, I mean, as far as men were concerned?

Strangelove:
Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious... service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.

DeSadeski:
I must confess, you have an astonishingly good idea there, Doctor.

Strangelove:
Thank you, sir.
