Window mode does not work

I am new to this game, downloaded MoBo, and tried putting SH4 into windowed mode but it is still the normal full screen. It is not a window taking up the full screen as I have tried all of the resolutions available to me ingame.

Also, off topic. I tried taking a screenshot of my map, and alt-tab to MoBo, but when I insert the screenshot into MoBo all I see is blackness in the MoBo window.

Damn, was really looking forward to making scrap metal with MoBo too. :wah:

After you switched to window mode, did you quit and restart the game?

Yeah, every time. Even turned window on in Main.cfg to see if that did anything. nV 8800GTS is also on the latest drivers if possibly that could be the problem.

Welcome Aboard nev vern!

:salute: you get error message?

nev_vern 01-07-11 12:02 AM

No error message.

The game runs just like normal (fullscreen) with windowed mode ticked in the graphics option, lower resolution than my desktop resolution and restarted the game.

I did choose older graphics drivers just in case it worked but it is still the same, even the black screen in MoBo after I tried to import a screenshot still exists.

But as I have found, someone had the same problem as far as my black MoBo screen is concerned, and his solution is to use XFire to take screenshots, so I tried this solution and the screenshots get imported into MoBo just fine for some reason. A little tedious but at least I am able to use MoBo with this method. :salute:

Yeah, I find the same thing,

I've been playing stock 1.4 for the more than two years with an nvidia 9600 GT and windowed mode has never worked.

I find it very annoying now that I'm trying to use this forum, I've gotta exit the game every time I wanna look sumpthin up.

If you're in the menu screen, Alt-Tab works just fine.

If you're playing the game, go to the control room camera, leave time compression at 1, and Alt-Tab. The game will pause until you return.

This was for SH3, it should work for SH4 too shouldn't it?

When you start the game, you should be able to go into the options menu after the title screen and put a check by "windowed mode" (or run in window, or something like that). From that point on, as long as the resolution of the desktop is greater than the resolution selected for the game you should notice it running in a window. If desktop resolution is same as game, it might not look like a window, but it is (just takes up the whole screen). Oh, and you will have to restart the game after making that selection.

Cheers razark,

That works a treat.

You've just saved me a heck of a lot of mucking around!
