Fined $500 for Swearing
No, not me and not on this board ;):

Maybe he was a pyromaniac who yelled: fire started. In this case his free speech would not be protected. Maybe he even did so. Do words speak louder than actions? Sometimes - but committing an action like this would an ucking hitty act towards the other passengers. Maybe he was a noisefreak, riding in a quiet bus, finally shouting : freaking silence! Is getting fined straightaway american or is uttering funny stuff any fine sod's freedom? What do the fellow subsimmers think? |
they're out there spying on you...i just got one of those nasty scare you emails from the anti piracy guys. big brother is really watching. the part that makes me angry is that they're spying on me, with no warrant, and aren't even a governemnt agency. at least in that case on the bus it was the actual police, not some corporate lapdog

Well I'm glad the UC broke his cover on such a pressing matter to public safety. On a serious note though I hope he fights it all the way to the Wisconsin Supreme Court if he has to. I fail to see how any level of government can tell me that I can't swear.

It was probably Aramike:haha:
Silly cheezheadz |
Today, leaving Wal-mart, I heard loud and clear, shouted from a truck as it sped past two black people, "F--ing Nig---s!"
Strikes out twice in my book. I'm glad my daughter was already in the car and missed such a display of class and tact :shifty: Swearing in public is the epitome of idiocy. |
Virginia Beach has these laws. There's signs all over the place saying this.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...avior_sign.jpg They are kinda funny. But in a tourist town like VB, I'm not totally opposed to it as they are trying to create a family friendly environment. But then, I was just there on vacation, and not a resident. I might have a different opinion if I lived there. There is something to be said for general public decency, maturity if you will. But that argument leads to censorship and first amendment arguments. |

I could understand not being allowed to say circleflashhash as this could mean somebody would be promoting drugs. However someone should sue them for abusing the written language by using two exclamation marks in a row!!! :D Quote:
If the f.. s... words would have fallen into the category that Neal mentioned, my guess would be that the source would have written something about a racial slur or hate speech. |
Prohibition does not solve any problem, people must show respect and dignity.
