whats the best sub game to play?
 

Hi..I was wondering what is the best sub game to play in multiplayer. I bought silent hunter 5 but can't get into multiplayer there,can get into LAN though.The multiplayer option is there but not hilighted, LAN is hilighted. any suggestions for a good sub game would be greatly appreciated. I have satellite connection.

The only sub game with a fun MP possibilities is Dangerous Waters especially if you like modern naval warfare and install some of the finest mod for the game.

But Dangerous Waters is not about eye candy or doesn't emphasize much on it. It's aimed at more matured players who hold specific passion for modern naval warfare. If that's your thing then go ahead.

Personally I love Dangerous Waters.

No problem Jerry but be mindful that Dangerous waters is not an experience sim like that of the Silent Hunter series. It's more like a procedural sim. Quite technical in experience.

Yea..I was looking at screenshots and videos..went ahead and paid for it..need to wait 6 hrs. before I can start downloading cause of fap.

Welcome to the forums, DW is a good game. Takes a lot of skill and patience but it's very rewarding when your torp strikes home after doing sonar and TMA on your own.

Yep that reward feeling is what made it so fun. I mean for ASW warfare you're practically fighting blind.

got DW dwnlded halfway...been having bad connection cause of the snow,will continue downloading tonight...can hardly wait.

ok..Finally got it installed...wow...going to take me a long while before i can understand enough to actually play it looks like. Don't see any sessions in multiplayer ...wondering if I need to install patches.Gone to website,patch links not working right for me...can't seem to get a patch from there.hmmm.. do I need to install 1st patch then the second?or just the latest to 104?gotta find a place to get the patches from.

But I think steam has its own download system and you may not need to download anything if you happen to be buying from steam.

The game only looks deceptively complicated. It's actually easy to play once you get things worked out. And yes there's no lobby nor dedicated server. You need to input the ip address of the host or play through LAN. It IS the most fun sub game to be played online.

How do you find the game now? Are you disappointed? I hope not. There's far more than meets the eye with DW than with Silent Hunter Series.
It's a very rewarding offline and online game(if you can find opponent for online).
