Ships stuck on ice
 
It's suggested not target them with torpedos right ?

I tried many parameters with the torp preset but it always hit the iceberg before the target.

Well, under normal circumstances, the ceiling of the torpedo is going to be higher than the bottom of the ice pack. So once the torpedo starts homing on the target, it's going to climb and climb until it smashes into the ice and breaks.

Of course, the surface ship is likely not a threat either, as his weapons wont penetrate the pack from above either, but just what would he be doing stuck in an ice flow anyway?

Tks for the info. I made a mission with the random startup box and with the random patrol as well. The ship just went straight to the ice. I checked on the map with the show truth on as well on demon, no lines at all there. They get stuck and take a lot to reach the open sea again. Easy tgts for harpoons but tricky for torps. At least for me...

Hmm, how would sending a mobile mine (torpedo with mine warhead) under his 'skirt' affect this situation? Does the torpedo with mine attached not maintain firing depth until it reaches the release location? And then it should explode once it arms because the target is close.
