Hi ducimus can you tell me how you made the alarms for the conning tower and how you linked them to the button on the task bar and the sound as well so I can make an emergency surface button for the conning tower thanks.

The model for the "buttons" is actually found on the conning tower deck. ( Look to the starboard side when on deck. ) For your needs though, it would be easier to just clone an existing "button". (alarms)
Originally, i only made 3 because thats all there was on a fleet boat. They were color coded red, green and yellow. One was the General quarters, one was the dive alarm, and the other was the collision alarm. ( See here: http://www.maritime.org/tour/cr.php?pano=fl ) Now the button/task bar link is easy. You have to tie it to an existing command. To know what those are, look in data/cfg/commands.cfg As i recall, i linked the buttons to general quarters, dive, and crash dive. I used crash dive in place of collision. I did so because those commands already existed, as does blow ballast. (where as collision did not exist). The controllers assigned to the "button" object should be in the sim file if memory serves. To find them, just copy the ID number of the "button" object, and then search for it in the sim file. I forget which controllers, focusable3dobj for sure though. |
ok thanks ducimus i will work on it in my spare time when im free
