has anyone had this problem
 

i downloaded GWX now when i start the game the screen with the red bar comes on it starts to load then near the end it freezes & a sound comes so i hit enter or esc & it keeps loading until the end & it freezes up again so i do the same thing.then another sound happens & then it comes up with this error error signature

modver: 1.0.0.1 offset: 0006d88a could it be a patch problem because it wont let me download the patch 1.4

GWX 3 needs the 1.4 patch installed. (downloading is something entirely different, and that is what a browser or filesharing client does for you, put it on your harddrive from the internet) There is no way around it, you need the patch.

What is your Operating System (OS)? Probably Vista or 7? Then install the game into a different location, like c:\Games\SilentHunterIII. The OS protects the files (in the Program Files folder structure) from potential tampering, so the patch probably wasn't allowed to stick to the game. (hehe, fitting metaphor :) )

It seems your game version is 1.0.0.1 but it should be 1.4.0.1.

You'll have to patch it before you install the GWX mod.

How comes you can't download the 1.4b patch? Where do you try? Make sure to get the correct version - DVD or Download - US or EMEA.

I'm suspecting he's mixing up the meaning of downloading, with installing the patch. Or vice versa.
