HELP!!!!! I want to start in port, not at sea!!!!

I used to like starting in port. Now, I like seeing more of land and more ships, even if my watch officer becomes a total basket case when he sees so many ships. :88) My problem is that I have "Start at sea" in SH3 Commander unchecked, but I'm still not starting at sea. Why? I have rolled back SH3 and tried again, but that doesn't work. I'd rather not do something as drastic as uninstall the game and reinstall is, but if I have to I will. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have 'Automatic Rollback' checked? If not, did you roll back Commander before changing parameters? I don't know how if that is one of the things affected by not rolling back, but that would be my first guess.

You should have the "start at sea" checked, not unchecked.

That said, I have had odd saves that have started me back in the pens, even though I had "Start at sea" checked. But it clears up on the next patrol.

Perform a 'rollback' then create a new career.

I think I misread the post, and desirableroasted got it right - if you want to start at sea, 'Start At Sea' must be checked, not unchecked.

OSU 12-13-10 07:24 PM

Uhhh, no. I want to start in port. Not at sea. I'm sorry, I must have been totally out of it when I wrote my first post. :damn: What I want is to start in port. I have the option unchecked in SH3 Commander, but I still start at sea.

Then we're back to where we started. Did you roll back Commander before changing the settings, or to you have Auto-Rollback enabled. If you did neither, then Commander will not obey your orders.

Ahhh, ok. I'll try that. It'll be a while. I've got finals this week. :nope:

No, you must drop real life for the sake of the game and those who tried to help you! :O:

Sorry, couldn't resist the temptation. Whenever you get the time, let us know how it works out. :sunny:

I will, and thank you! :D

I started a new career, with a new installation of Commander, but it still didn't work. I didn't rollback anything, so I'll finish my current patrol, then start another one to see if that fixes it.

If it still won't work properly try uninstalling the game and cleaning out the registry of its files.

It works now. I reinstalled the game again last night and started a patrol out of Bergen in Norway. Thank you guys for all your help!
