Iranian MRM based in Venezuela?
According to many sources, Iran is planning to place Shahab 3 / Scud ramps in Venezuela.
The missiles has enough range to hit mainland US. Is Chavez crazy? Of course, this is a clever move from the Iranians, to establish this new MAD policy (assuming the missiles has nuclear warheads), but - if the news are true- no good for the world peace... 1st reaction - a new cuban missile crisis.
2nd reaction - SCUD missiles? really? because they are sooooo effective. |

Chaves is that annoying, eh? :)
I don't think the US will pull another WMD "cheat" after Iraq ... :hmmm: . |
you know, why isn't wikileaks leaking anything about this?
this is something that i would actually like insider info on |
That's what JDAMs are for. That or sink all shipping coming from Iran to our hemisphere summarily.

A Iranian Shahab 3 on the Northern beaches of Venezuela would just barely hit the southern most point of Florida... assuming the CEP (2.5 kilometers. The 190m CEP is only in their dreams) allows such a lucky hit.
I don't think I will be digging my bomb shelter this weekend. the Iranian Shahab 3 also can only lift a 800kg payload which equals about a 500kg warhead. |
and we have ICBM's AND anti missile systems
go cry to you're momma IRAN |
And we need a test area for the Rail-Gun system!
:har: |
Monroe Doctrine. Destroy any facilities summarily. Period. If Venezuela doesn't like it, they are welcome to try and invade and change our mind.

It was called 'Screw the President'. |
I would worry more about a Venezuelan diesel sub popping off a couple SLCMs at Washington, Miami, or Dallas. Like one of the new Satnav guided LACM variants of the C-802.
|
So many acronyms  I really need to buy Dangerous Waters and get up with the modern military lingo.
