Real Navigation Links
To find the position of a ship or aircraft by celestial navigation, the navigator uses a sextant to take a 'sight' to measure the apparent height of the object above the horizon, and notes the time from a marine chronometer. The object's position is then looked up in the Nautical Almanac for that particular time and after allowance for refraction, instrument error and other errors, a position circle on the Earth's surface is calculated.

Occasionally in the exterior view I will locate the north star so that I know which direction to look for a certain feature, but I'm damned sure I'm not buying a sextant and trying that on screen.

Does SH5 also have a file called savegame_name.map, inwhich all mapmarkings, waypoints and such are stored, as it is in SH3 and 4? I know it's probably located in a different folder because Ubisoft uploads/downloads your savegames all the time. But it might help extending the "Stellarium solution" to SH5 too. I don't have SH5, I'm just contemplating the possibilities.
