Republicans voted to raise your taxes at the end of 2010. George W. Bush signed that into law. That's a fact. That's history. So now these are known as the Obama tax cuts.

Or they would be if his handlers knew jack about marketing political messages.

Are you kidding? Is the left coming to terms with Barack Obama?

is that not racizt?

I was wondering why he nuckled under when i saw the news, then i read this:

Quote:

Referring to the bitter wrangling over the issue, Mr Obama said he would not "let working families become collateral damage for political warfare".

That's a reasonable explanation i suppose. TeamR got TeamD backed into a corner with no way out except to either pass schit, or let everything suffer because of TeamR being obtuse. Which of course, team D will get the blame for, regardless. So, there you have it. In the world of politcs, all you have to do is hold your breath, and pout like a 5 year old tell you get what you want. :har:

Crazy is just that.

Politics is all about compromise. No one ever gets 100% of what they want. :yep:. There are always trade-offs. :yep:

Obama got an extension to the unemployment that he wanted and compromised to a 2 year extension to the tax cuts instead of a permanent change.

Politics is the art of the possible. - Otto Von Bismark, 1867

I would not want to be President Obama. If he does not compromise with Team R, he is a socialist idealogue. If he does compromise with Team R, he is a spineless POS. Talk about having the deck stacked against you.

You can alawys blame it on the neo=Cons who were 1960s liberals who disavowed Manson like violence.

Sucks to be president.

To be President of the United States is to act as advocate for a blind, venomous, and ungrateful client... - John Updike

No, it is clearly a secret muslim conspiracy. Duh. Maybe the 'missile' had something to do with it. Did anyone check the Grassy Knoll?

A while back, I was at a business luncheon with some clients of one of my bosses. They were fairly unsophisticated and very very East Texas...we were having pleasant conversation until one of them started on on the then-newly elected Scott Brown and how it was a great triumph. She followed that up by saying that any Republican who didn't vote with the rest of them should be kicked out of the party.

Your comment was what I said, as it was the most non-partisan and innocuous way I could steer the conversation someplace else, before I pointed out what and idiot she was. I remember saying something like "You know, I wouldn't be president for all the money in the world. You can never please anyone - be it the other side or your own base. There's a good reason they age so fast." It worked.

No real point to that story. That comment just reminded me of it.

Ugh. They brought up politics on a business lunch? Not a very smart way to do business.

Exactly my "goldurn elitist Northeastern librul commie" thoughts, but they were local school board members in deep east Texas, so that sort of thing is just par for the course here.

Ah, so they concluded the lunch with a prayer.
