My SH3 disk is bad. What to do?
After several years of service, my SH3 disk no longer reads properly and I can't perform a new installation of it on a computer. I can use it OK to run an already-installed SH3 install. I still have my receipt from when I bought it back in 2005 from Chips & Bits Inc, but they appear to have gone out of business.
I'm just wondering what my best options are. I see now that there are many mods for SH3 including the ability to play without the disk in the computer, and that SH3 can still be purchased here for around $10. Should I just buy a new copy? Is there any process to replace a failing disk, or is it easier to just buy a new copy? Any help is welcome. |

If you buy a new copy from Amazon using the Subsim link, you get a Starforce-free copy that doesn't require the disc in the drive to play, and Subsim gets a cut! Everybody wins!

What Sailor Steve says is the simplest way to go. I´ve got my SH3 loaded in the computer via a new disk. Don´t need the disk in to play. It works great. :DL

got mine from steam when it was on sale. My original disc died a while ago (looks all misty in one portion - too long near a radiator!). Digital downloads are great for one thing!

Thanks for the answers. Spending the $10 for a new copy via the Amazon link. (Bonus, it includes SH2 as well!)
