WASHINGTON - It's "food porn." That's what the Center for Science in the Public Interest dubbed the 1,030-calorie, deep-fried Lasagna Fritta appetizer at the Olive Garden.
Put that burger down you freakin pervert !!!

That Nutcase organization would have us eating wood and water diet if they could have their way.

I don't know, a 1000-calorie appetizer is pretty extreme. There's half of your caloric intake for the day.

ehh 1000 calories in a dish that is supposed to come BEFORE your main meal is extreme.

SteamWake 11-19-10 12:17 PM

So its 1000 calories?

You know that or at least you should know that and beware. No one points a gun at your head and says 'you shall eat this' but someone wants to legislate so 'you shall NOT eat this'.

gimpy117 11-19-10 12:20 PM

they don't really say to you straight up its 100 calories. you prolly have to run all around the restaurant to find some dusty book that will have the numbers.
if it said right on the menu "this is 1000 calories" im sure a lot less people would buy it.

Actually they are required by law  to have that information readily available.

Most pepole whom order such a behemoth are not concearned with their caloric intake and even if they had the info in bold flashing color it would be ignored anyhow.

It's just what an interest group says. I wouldn't get so worked up over it.

SteamWake 11-19-10 01:43 PM

No not really..

But then again George Soros is an 'interest group' :hmmm: :haha:

Well it should be freakin' obvious it isn't a plate of carrot sticks right?? I mean who wouldn't think it a hi-cal appetizer!
