Ghostly appearances, what would you do or say

As some members are trying to judge me (on my way of thinking), and I have explained in My Experience Fairground Con thread, now they insist to attack directly as they may lack understanding, I open this thread to try get an (honest) opinion and to try understand how you think! Unlike them I will not judge you as an individual and shall hold my manners, I am aware of the forum rules, so I put the question to you, even though you may not believe, please answer as honest as possible.. "If a ghost like hooded figure appeared 3 meters in front of you, followed by a second apparition with shackles and chains hanging downwards, and you were fully awake, sober, drug free, in good mind and vision, glasses on etc , in your home normal environment, without tv, projectors, pc, etc on, nothing which may display an image, What would you do or say"? this is a test if you may, there is no obligation to answer or post, though I would like an answer from the members that see fit to ask me so many questions. Thank you and I await some hopeful and honest thinking to your said answer.

I would remind them both that I was exceedingly generous in my charitable dealings this past year, did nothing to harm the Cratchit child and never once used the term 'humbug'. I would then politely suggest that they have the wrong house.

I think the real question here is....

"If jimbuna appeared 3 meters in front of you, followed by nikimcbee, and you were fully awake, sober, drug free, in good mind and vision, glasses on etc , in your home normal environment, without tv, projectors, pc, etc on, nothing which may display an image, What would you do or say"?

I think this is a far more terrifying prospect :88)

I'd say "I know a nice little English pub down the street. First round's on me!"

One night, i had a particularly early start the next morning so i decided to go to bed well before my normal time. My wife remained awake in the next room with the door to our bedroom closed.

I laid there in the dark, my eyes adjusted to the light and i drifted off to sleep - which is normally difficult for me to do as i am a "day dreamer" or "thinker" and my mind refuses to sleep.

after what seemed like some length of time asleep i suddenly awoke.

I was completely paralyzed.

at the foot of our bed, from the entrance into the bathroom, a cloaked figure emerged. about 4" tall and approached the foot of the bed and began to walk around to the side of the bed very slowly.

I watched in absolute horror as i was powerless to do anything.

suddenly the bedroom door opened flooding the scene with light and i sort of jerked my head toward the door.

My wife said "whats wrong?"

the cloaked figure was no longer there i looked at her and said "nothing... Why?"

she said that i yelled her name though i had no memory of doing so.

after researching it i discovered "sleep paralysis" and "night terrors" and attributed the condition to the odd, slightly elevated angle of my head had caused me to suffer from an onset of sleep apnea which resulted in sleep paralysis.

i discarded the oversized pillow i had been using that night, and slept on a flatter pillow.

this was about 6 years ago, it has not happened since.

I can't answer that question. I would only be able to begin to answer it if it actually happened. It's like asking somebody what they'd do if they were in a bank during a hold-up, or under small arms fire in some foreign country whilst on holiday.

Some would freeze, some would run, some would try to get a better view, and myriad other scenarios.

(In regard to the other thread, I think (my opinion is the only one I'm aware of) that people don't see the need to use big, long, complicated words and sentences to convey a message - it gives the impression that you are trying to be better than everyone, that everyone else is beneath you - but that is only an impression. If, on the other hand, you talk like that in your normal daily life then so be it, but your question above isn't like that, is it? This is a great forum, and if everyone had the same opinion, language, vocabulary, dialect
, intellect, or parchant for dirty jokes and pictures as much as the next man, or Frau, it wouldn't be as great :D)

Rattling chains...please.:har:

Here is the problem I have with ghost. If they exist, they should be in spiritual matter only, but almost always wearing clothes, shaking chains, ect. So how doe's physical non human matter somehow make it to the spiritual realm if such exist? I thought only humans had souls or spirits, but it seems often physcial matter like metal and cloth can also cross over and take spiritual form in the spiritual world:D

One thing I know, it doesn't matter what is real or not, if the mind believes it, then it's real to the person. "As a man think, so is he." somewhere in Proverbs.

Call Ghostbusters, they'll gladly charge you a few grand to check your pad out

No you are incorrect, with regard to the other thread it should have stayed in the field, you could have used pm function. As for the warm advise you offer about the forum, may I say that I am aware of its functions, images, members etc though if your are as warm as you advise me then will you take my hand in friendship? :salute:

I admit when being surprised and scared, I tend to react like a dog in a corner (or a Klingon :D ): I attack. It's almost a reflex both by instinct and by training.

However, when I was a late teen, for several years I had a repetitive dream pattern, always starting in a town, an industrial area, a village, with many faceless people chasing me, and me trying to escape into the open wilderness, forests for the most. There the feasr turned into excitement and the game turned by 180°, and the people turned into monsters which I hunted down and then hacked into pieces in the deep, deep forests. It was almost symbolic a dream pattern - the faceless anonoymous crowd becoming monsters, the badness of the industial towns where I was weak, and the goodness of the open nature and forests where if becasme strong. I have still plenty of wonderful images of fairy tale forests from those dreams, and I miss that I do not dream like that anymore. At least I do not remember. I don't remember any of my dreams these days.

Back then, it went for several years like this. The dreams varied, but the basic pattern remained the same. Happened 2 or 3 times a month, at least regarding what I remembered from my dreams the other day.

The sight of abandoned rusty industrial areas that are in the process of being conquered back by nature and have an isolated, melancholic mood around them, have a great fascination and attraction on me until today. And no, I absolutely do not like meeting people in forests. Any maybe it is also better for them if they do not meet me. :DL

Hanging chains, rattling chains, what's the difference, still a chain.

I find it strange that most that believe in spirts, say only the human soul can become a spirit, but then most spirits end up having non spiritual matter attached to them, a little contradictory to me unless metal also has a spiritual soul............

Facts are facts, we have no facts on such matters, matters of spiritualism are based on faith and is therefore limitless to the imaginations and beliefs that abound in us all. Simply no matter how much you believe what you saw, it cannot be proved, just believed by others of like mind. The only way we'll know the truth of these matters is when we die.

I certainly wouldn't let it bother me.

What I dont understand is why Adept keeps lashing out because of 'personal attacks' I really dont see any.

Perhaps a desire to be the focus of attention /shrug.

I have had some experience with seemingly paranormal episodes. But they werent 'scary' or unpleasent. More like a visit from and old friend.
