29th Flotilla in January '41?
It's January 5, 1941. I just received a message informing the 29th flotilla boats of a task force heading towards Malta. According to GWX's flotilla information, as well as uboat.net's information, the 29th isn't supposed to exist until December 1941. Is this a bug in my save, or an oversight of some sort?

GWX has NO bugs, only features :DL

Are you using SH3 Commander and what mods have you got enabled?

I am using commander, and my mods are as follows:
GWX 3 St Naz and Schluese and other units V4 GWX 3 my mix Ice Age GWX - English Nav Map and Grid Refs GWX - 16km Atmosphere Marhk's Ocean MADNESS v2 (only for IUB or 16km) 16km sea speed GWX - Alternate Loadscreen - Full Circle OLC's Modified Searchlight Beams for GWX3 Torpedo damage Final ver2.0 LifeBoats&Debris_v4 WBNN Mission Orders Ambient Underwater Sound Blue U-Marker IXB U-boat Skin 1 WB's Decks Awash + Fuel Economy GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects Q Ship mod for GWX3 - Reloaded Sobers 3D waves I suppose it could have been a messed up WBNN Mission Order. |
I seriously doubt its the case, but the SHC installation could have gone awry at some point. Since SHC overrites all config files upon loading if its installation got interrupted/corrupted you could be getting the option to transfer to Salamis (is what is sounds like) prematurely. Look in the SHC configuration files for the flotille to make sure that the 23/29 are set to the right dates, and then also check once the game starts.
Staring in mid-June 40' when the Med becomes mostly Axis occupied you could dock at La Spezia, Salamis, or Pola if you needed (like ran out of fuel or out of torepedoes) to refuel but they wouldn't be available as a permanent base for another year+ to transfer to. Either something didn't install correctly or you activated 'hidden feature' :) |
Here is the offending message.

Oh FFS people, how many times have I stated over the years that SH3Cmdr does NOT modify your flotilla files? It simply READS what already exists.
From the OP's post it's very obvious that he is simply talking about one of the random messages in the message file, and yes, HW3 found it - the WBNN Mission Orders mod includes radio messages for 29th Flotilla in Jan 1941. Problem solved. And what a surprise, nothing to do with SH3Cmdr. |
I knew it wasn't SH3 Commander itself, it had to be a mod, I just hadn't checked to see which one yet. Thanks for pointing out which one it is JScones.
