Help me and I DONATE to SUBSIM

hi guys!

very new to SH3. New to applying mods too. My main aim is to convert my living room (when the wife and kids are out) to a submarine living condition. I intend to use voice commands for added immersion. I have a problem in that the Sonarman doesn't use his voice to report on 'Repeat last report' / Report on nearest contact / Report on nearest warship contact. He reports them only as a script which is not what would happen in a real submarine. I have SH3+patch1.4b+GWX.
I will be more than happy to DONATE 20 Euro if someone can direct me to the best mod which solves my problem.

Thanks in advance.:)

I don't use voice commands, but a search of subsim might help you. I suspect that since the game doesn't give these responses out loud, that it will not be possible unless you make the mod yourself. I think it should be possible to make such a mod.
Welcome aboard:woot:

IIRC there is a voice command mod or way to do it floating around here somewhere.:hmmm:

I think you'd have to do it yourself, involving a lot of research. Not even SH5, the latest in the series has such a voice report.

For immersion feeling, when it is raining on screen, go stand in the shower (cold water) for five minutes and then return to the game. You cannot change or dry yourself until you dive. (towels on the floor)

Don't forget red light bulbs for night. Open all the windows to let in air, regardless of outside temp. Close them and all doors when under water.

Stand, not sit, to run the game. Enjoy !:arrgh!:

Don't forget to bring in your lawn sprinkler and turn it on when you are getting depth charged.

No, I think they're saying there's no way to have the sonar guy audibly speak certain reports.

Your right Gargamel in what the OP wants. While voice commands programs are tied into keystrokes I, don't think in his request they'll work for him.

I know of 2 programs... 1 for SH3 and 1 for SH5 if anyones interesting.

There is a SH3 voice command mod somewhere hereabouts, there are also other programs available to do it. I did look into several months ago but didn't end up doing anything - I think Sgt_Raa did though, but not heard from him recently :hmmm:

thanks for your replies fellow crew members. It seems that it should be easy to get the sonarman to give the reports audibly as well as script on request. he does speak them out spontaneously when the first contact is made. So...ok...how do i get to do modding? I hear the laughter...but I'm a persistent kind of guy. Can someone point me in the right direction to start modding?
Thanks:salute:

What would you do with modding, any specific area you think of....

No one is laughing. The best modders here started off not knowing anything. Who knows - you might end up being one of them.

Have a look at the modding sections and decide what your main interest might be, then identify a small mod that catches your eye and PM the modder for a little advice....I'm confident nobody will laugh at you.

I'm pretty sure he means that he wants to mod the game to have the sonar man audio run everytime he reports, not just when he initially gets a contact.
