Mohammed tops list of English baby names

London, England (CNN) - Hit the road, Jack.

Last year's most popular name for baby boys in England has been knocked off -- by Mohammed.

That's not immediately obvious from data put out this week by the Office of National Statistics, which declared Wednesday that Oliver was the single most popular name for boys born in 2009.

How did the UK get so over run with Islamics ?

Was some brit makeing a bundle importing those suckers by the boatload ? :-?

I gotta admit we did the same thing long ago.

And look where it got us. :p2:

I don't get it... Teddy bears aren't allowed to be named Mohammed. Cartoons on paper aren't allowed to be named Mohammed. But those things are just toys and drawings, which physically can't really do anything...

In the meantime, it's statistically true that a large proportion of people across all cultures grow up to be a-holes. Even in the best of families, there's always one. So... why can't we name innocent toys after Mohammed, but we can name future a-holes after him?

Life's funny like that :D

From a different perspective, a reflection on things most likely to come.

Before anyone applauds what he says, make sure you have carefully read between the lines. It's quite the opposite of what it seems he says at first listening. Dovutoglu always does it like this.

It does not work, it is premature entry into the EU, the country must clean up its own house first, and there are many disturbances already

Well, I quoted that article in order to illustrate a certain attitude of expectations of them towards us. It illustrates a certain self-conception of theirs.

Might have something to do with the fact that at one time, the british empire encompassed just about all of the then civilised (and the not so civilised) world - it's only natural for children to gravitate toward their parents, after all...
in context, there's more of us than there are of them, for the most part anyway.
