Even when I was a devout believer I hated ostentation. A building like that serves no purpose but to inflate the ego of the one who had it built.

You need to have mafia connections, money laundring, realestate embezelment and shady financing to avoid bankrupcy. In other words, you need to be a roman catcholic church

If religion merges with business, both merge for a result of business exclusively, with any religious claim or intention gone.
