Strange!

May 1940 I could not believe my eyes!

No it was not me...

OK, we can safely rule out a Axis ship or Axis Allie in the middle of a enemy convoy, so I came to the conclusion it was a U-Boat. Weather was awful and foggy and this escort was going like a bat out of hell dropping his nasties but not at me! Yes the escort was close but I think it was gunning for the AI U-Boat, just as well for me!

Crashed dived, did a sharp turn to port then went to silent running, not a ping in my direction and not a escort snooping around to find me, all the action was away from me. Slipped away to fight another day, first time this has happen to me, sweet for sinking three tankers but knowing one of our U-Boats will not be returning home left a bitter after taste.

What the heck's a fleet tender? I've never seen such a designation in my ID book.

Sailor Steve 10-23-10 09:05 AM

A fleet tender is just that - a ship that tends the fleet. It will usually be a large fast tanker.

The problem I'm having is the name it gave you. First, it should be HMS or USS, not SS. Second, the only 'Runa' I have listed is a small ship of about 1500 tons. Also I don't see any cargo or crew listings with your kills. Are you using the very latest version of SH3 Commander, and are you using my latest Ship Names update for it?

STEED 10-23-10 01:15 PM

Running 3.2.0.203 SH3C only.

Here is the last update I did. It installs right on top of the old file, and gives a few more names, and better organized.
