Germany's First Hitler Exhibition
Germany's First Hitler Exhibition
For the first time since the end of World War II, a major Germany museum is putting on a significant exhibition about Adolf Hitler -- Berlin's German Historical Museum's "Hitler and the German Nation and Crime." It's not a trivial matter significant only for history buffs, either. Germany has a tortured, complex relationship to its past. Many -- including many Germans -- argue that it has never fully confronted its fall from being the center of sophistication for the Western world to being at the heart of the 20th century's worst horrors. According to the museum, the Hitler exhibition will try to answer the question of why so many Germans chose to follow Hitler and his fascist ideology and so devotedly, despite the horrors of World War II and the Holocaust. The exhibition will be open to the public from Oct. 15 until February 6, 2011. Here: various busts of Adolf Hitler. http://www.life.com/image/105236742/...ler-exhibition |
Very good, *insert cliché about not forgetting the past* seriously shining light in the dark corners is the best way to dispel demons IMHO.

It is a subject that the world needs to examine in depth, not just Germany.

Unfortunately some who examine this subject will think old Adolph had the right idea... http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/804...handahmadi.jpg |

However, it's not just the antisemitism I'm talking about. After all, the Jews were just a convenient scapegoat...it's the need of governments to have that scapegoat, the need of people to have that scapegoat and the exploitation of hatred against that scapegoat to win the masses to the governments side coupled with the suppression of those who would fight the scapegoats corner. |

Anyway... You have a point TLAM...but I think that they would just transfer the blame from Israel to the US, and so on and so forth. |
Its about time this sort of thing happen, Germany trying to erase the Hitler years from there history is not the right thing to do. About time something like this was done for educational reasons.
