[FIX] Head04 fix (another one) - "triangle at back of the head"

There was already a fix for this problem here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom//showthread.php?t=99608, but it didn't work for me, so I've made another one.

The problem looks like this:
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/7...2006852zc7.jpg

What I've done to fix it: I've copied a 3d model from another head (02) to POS_Head04.dat, and an appropriate .tga also (changed the color of hair to make it different from Head02).

I don't know who is the author of those heads - are those from stock sh3 or GWX? Anyway, I've taken them from a GWX installation.

------- update --------

It looks like there was already a working fix for this problem made by Anvart. You can download it here: link

Hi Bonk,

Thank mate i was looking for this one

Best regards Hans

BTW, it would be probably easy to fix - the proper way - that is, by fixing the 3d model in POS_Head04.dat, and not by copying a model from another head, by opening this model in external program:

I don't have such program.

Hehe, it's "wolk", pol. wilk, ger./eng. wolf. But Slavic is the closest to sanskrit *wlkwo-, and cyrillic is the most beautiful ;)

Excellent! Was driving me nuts to see that stupid triangle (Read: Inmersion killer!), and sober's fix didn't work anymore as you stated ...

and look post #5, 19, 25 in http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...Crew+Head+%234.

P.S.
Волк бессовестно присвоил себе мою работу - чистый плагиат... все проблемные части головы имеют такое же смещение как и в моём моде.
Wolf shamelessly has appropriated my work... all the problematic vertices and triangles of the head04 have the same offset as in my mod... it's clean rip-off.
.. that is the shame! :nope:

Sober did not change geometry... He tried to exclude Head4 from use...
I simply changed geometry of head4...

Not quite. I've found only this: http://174.123.69.202/~subsimc/radio...d.php?p=337478 , but as you see there is no link.

I will update the first post with information about your fix, it's certainly better.

Anvart 10-09-10 03:58 AM

:rotfl2:
Yes, it was "gungster-like attack" ("joke" of my "friends") under my account...
The first posts of several themes with the descriptions of mods and with links have been removed...
... and in any case, old FileFront links "have died" long time ago...
