Does the phrase "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" ring any bells :D Also dont under estimate the influence of the energy giants, they have plenty of leverage where govenment is concerned. Look how the Bu$h administration conviently managed to insert an Ex-Unocal (oil company) employee as the president of Afganistan back in 2002. (yeah they wanted to stamp on Taliban (and also build a pipeline for natural gas while they were in the neighbourhood ;)) Then there is Iraq and the imaginary WMDs and the imaginary Sadam & Al Queda ties (nice one Bush and Blair.) No one should be stranger to government corruption or the odd lie, it happens in every country. What's really suprising is that people are still somehow shocked by it. Sure, I trust our goverments to keep our civilsation running at a reasonably bearable level, but I wouldnt trust half the crap that comes out their mouths. Come the elections they'll say just about anything that people want to hear. |
Sounds like something straight out of Bush's playbook.
Good job, Obama. :nope: |

Let it go there is life after Bush. |
Didn't surprise me at all. When they released figures about how much of the spill was cleaned up/washed ashore/still floating/unaccounted for, they set the quantities at roughly 25% each. How realistic is that?
