Game creahes when loading VII model
Hello, I've bought and installed SHIII this weekend, and run into a problem right at the start - my game crashes whenever 3d model of type VII boat is about to be loaded - when starting a mission involving this boat, or when selecting it in the "museum" part. Other than that, all runs without any problems (I can play the same missions with II, IX, XXI without CTD).
The game is a patched version (1.4), no mods. I have ASUS laptop with 1,5 GB RAM and Sempron 3200 CPU, nVIDIA GeForce 6100 graphics. The config tool says it satisfies minimum (though not recommended) specs. Did anyone have similar problem? Any help would be appreciated... |

Anyway, I've noticed it's only with VIIC type, VIIB works OK. Still I have no clue why the game crashes on me when trying to use VIIC though. |
Have you tried using a Type VIIC skin from the downloads section? It's a longshot, but if the default VIIC skin is corrupted it might fix it. Worth a shot at least, and you can revert back with the third party JSGME program if you decide to go back.

Are you trying to use the VIIC before it is historicaly available?
|
I don't think it has anything to do with the boat being historically unavailable, because it crashes in "museum" as well. I tried to download a custom skin for VIIc, but it didn't help (perhaps the problem is not with skin but 3d model or some engine sound?). Right now I'm reinstalling the game, maybe this will do the trick.
EDIT: Nope. After reinstalling the game situation is exactly the same. |
VII crashes in my installation when I use BlankCampaign mod and Waterstream&Exhaust Combimod together
|
If you have added ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the installation it is probably a faulty disc......very unusual/rare but that is all it can be.
