Looking for a Mission Creator Tutorial
Greetings all,
I killed a tree and printed out the mission editor user manual. Does anyone out there have a step by step guide to creating a basic scenario? It can be something off YouTube or even a Word or PDF document. I just need something simple. You know short sentences and little words. I'm ex-Army so it's gotta be simple. That is all! Carry on! |
I'd like to see something like this too but haven't been able to find it so far.
|
I don't know of a basic tutorial. But I really recommend that you take the plunge and start building a mission. The manual tells you everything you need to know, but you will learn more by trial and error - once you start, the basic principles will drop into place.
I used to make missions for SC a lot, but have only just started to explore the DW editor, which is more complex, and at times seems a bit less intuitive than the SC version. I'm still learning the more intriciate bits, but would be happy to advise you if you run into problems. |
Maybe you could briefly explain a few things. I'm looking to create a simple scenario with two playable platforms on opposing sides.
It would consist of three objects: - FFG (playable, side0) - Ohio SSBN (side0) - Kilo (playable, side1) The critical objective is to protect/kill (side0/1) the SSBN. The SSBN would be setup in a patrol box. How would I do the following? - set tactics for the FFG and Kilo? - set triggers so that: -- side0 wins if the kilo is destroyed -- side0 loses if the SSBN is destroyed -- side1 wins if the SSBN is destroyed This would be very helpful. |
Is this intended to be a single-player mission with a choice of two platforms? I have never done a MP mission, but I assume the principles are similar.
|
Yes, I should have been clear: an SP mission with choice of platforms/sides.

Just getting back into it.
I ran into the RA mod and that started me back into DW. I am refreshing myself in making MP missions that I can play in single player. It is only a matter of trial and error and remembering...
I hope that RA mod will spark some interest in the DW game again. |
