Hope and change doesn't mean equal enforcement of the law

An editorial from Investors Business Daily about the state of the Justice Department. This could/should be the end of Eric Holder as Attorney General.

Quote:

.....we have the explosive testimony last Friday of Christopher Coates, former voting chief of the Civil Rights Division, before the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.

Coates said the Panther decision was "the result of their deep-seated opposition to the equal enforcement of the Voting Rights Act against racial minorities and for the protection of white voters who have been discriminated against."
Quote:

Adams had also testified that Julie Fernandes, a deputy assistant general in the Civil Rights Division in charge of voting matters, told Voting Section leadership that the Obama administration would not file election-related cases against minority defendants — no matter what the alleged violation of the law.

Coates verified Adams' testimony about Fernandes, and also said he had been "specifically instructed" by Loretta King, acting assistant attorney general for civil rights, "not to ask any other applicants whether they would be willing to, in effect, race-neutrally enforce the VRA (Voting Rights Act)."
Is Michelle still proud of her country? I'm not sure I am, but then I didn't vote for the hope and change.

Bump because racism from anyone is evil and this is an important story.

SteamWake 09-28-10 02:08 PM

Well it might be that this 'story' is about 3 months old.

By the way you might want to wait at least a couple of hours before a bump ;)

That is a couple hours plus. But this is racism out of the justice department. And needs to be stood up to.

You are correct. Please forgive me for posting links to a three month old story on a submarine game website's message board. Because racist policy is correct where ever you find it.

Ok.

its not racist because its not against blacks ;)

you cant be racist against non-blacks, remember?

tater 09-28-10 06:34 PM

This is pretty indefensible as many of us were saying during the actual election (more than 3 months ago for those keeping track).

SteamWake 09-28-10 09:37 PM

It was all over the 'alternate' media way back at ... yes ... election time.

But it never gained any traction. Nor was it covered in the mainstream media save a brief mention. Perhaps out of fears of appearing racisist. Such irony.

The case was dissmissed due to 'lack of merit'. Dont know whom the judge was. I dident hear the evidence (though I did see video).

BUT...

Frankly it frightens me but I'm not going to do anything about it on subsim.

I'm just waiting untill november. I already did my part in the runoffs.
