Tribal Destroyer again

This sucks, I've been out classed by a Tribal again

Those guys know what they're doing and they don't mess around.

I found a nice little convoy heading 5knots easy to track under the water.
Leading the charge is a big J&K destroyer(Hate those things). I let him pass by me. It was time to look at what's on the menu, I saw a load of small merchants, then I find a nice big 4000 tonner I send an eel at her.

Then I remembered the J&K, fired an aft at him. The eel hits the merchant and the other misses the J&K.The destroyer threw a fit, sonar and search lights all over the place, I took no chances and dived deeper to 50m.

I move in to the middle of the convoy then take a look around, thats when I spotted a beauty, an Ore carrier at about 7000tonnes. I fire my last eel at her, perfect hit.

The first merchant sinks, setting off a chain reaction. The J&K fires a flare into the air, then all the merchants start firing off flares, thats when the Tribal at the rear of the convoy works out what the heck was going on and he was not happy.

I order a crash dive, we make it to 70m before he is on top of us,
"Depth charges in the water" SO
Two depth charges hit and killed four of my crew, guess who.
Out of a ship full of men he kills four of my officers, my CE NA WE and the repair officer and now my WO is my new CE, I'm doomed. :dead:

I've never been in such a situation. Question: if all of your officers get killed, how do you helm the boat?

That's what I'm wondering... I guess if you had one officer left, you would have to move him from station to station every time you gave an order that required an officer's presence in order to get a response. But without any officers, how the heck would you get anything done? It's not like you can "promote" someone to fill the necessary stations if all you have left are POs and seamen. Even in the first scenario about all you could safely do is set a course straight for home and hope you didn't run into the enemy on the way. I don't think you can change depth/speed without a CE or change course without an NO, making evasive maneuvers would be a nightmare.

I suppose you could just teleport back to base but even that's out if you're at 100% realism.

Yes, this stuff can suck, what depth did you keel over in this situation? To fire a eel against a moving target as a DD who rarely go straight is difficult unless you have an acoustic eel, and in addition is 70 meter is not much to Avoid D / C ,150-200 m I would rather go if you are not in shallow water

Not dead yet, sitting at 100m at ahead standerd the tribal never treid another run but I have my WO :DL and this is his first patrol (My other WO was KIA) the main problem is the conning tower is toast :-?.

The flooding isn't all that bad, well it is but I've seen worse so my lovly damage control team should get it under control.

That's what I'm doing right now :DL

"if all of your officers get killed, how do you helm the boat? "

The answer: You don't! You sit there unable to move, dive, surface or anything, all you can do is hope that you'r on the surface and a passing armed merchant sinks you.

The torpedo hit but it was a dud (I know I said it missed sorry 'bout that)
I was crash diving and he DC me at 70m

Wow, I've made it back now.
I got 61.60 renown, brilliant I was hoping to buy a IXB but what the heck.
The games being cheap I've got 7100 in the bank and it cost 7500 to buy a IXB.

The Hull was at 30% so it taxed me on that, damn, other than that everything went smooth :DL

Hard to be surprised by that. You went in like a cowboy on meth; you are lucky you lived to tell the tale.

Oh, wait, that was the point. Another sea story from the bulging locker of JooF.

Since you have been playing the game since it came out, and play GWX at 100%, I bet you have bag full of stories for us.
