Almost a Darwin Award
http://www.welt.de/vermischtes/weltg...-Sandloch.html
A 23-years old German tourist at the beach of Teneriffa (a German protectorate in Spain :D) felt bored and started to dig holes into the sand. Two of them, almost 2 meters deep. The holes collapsed and buried him. His girlfriend called bystanding tourists for help and so they got him out just in time before he could report "game over". :haha: A close miss is a miss nevertheless. Sorry, dude, no Darwin for you. :shucks: Nominated for special recognition of a stupid parrallel action, are the authorities of Teneriffa, who said that they spend 20.000 euros for sending a police patrol there that helped the bathing tourists to dig the Darwin contender out. Here is good advice, fellas: if you want to talk real big money, better dig your holes in the Sahara, quicksand preferred. I would not be surprised to see this discipline as a competition event in the next season of "Big Brother". |
Well at least he was able to dig at all :haha:

It's happened here in Australia a few times, and a couple of people weren't so lucky.
I almost witnessed a possible Darwin, changing ends on a train at a station, I heard a sounds like a gutter overflowing on to the platform. I look up an there is a guy taking a slash from the overhead bridge, with his mate cheering him on. I yelled up at him "Good on you!" and then said his "stream" was less than a meter from a 1500 Volt overhead. The "stream" stopped suddenly!:rotfl2: There was a case of someone who did "cross streams" with the overhead. He lived, but has no sex life or bladder control..... |
Having a slash... anything like the fireboat drill? :haha: :har:

To take a piss, splash the boots, drain the spuds..etc etc. Wee basically.:D

The thing is though whenever one attempts to explain such an event, It becomes impossible to prevent the smile spreading across ones face, nor the s******ing/laughter which inevitably follows. I concluded that this was a worthwile death, as it subsequently caused so much mirth to almost completely defeat the sadness of it. |
