Help!
Hey guys,
last night i wanted to patch up my Football Manager 10 1.0 to 1.3. The problem is that the patch file does not open up an installer, it just asks me which program I would like to open the file with. I thought it was just a corrupt file or something, so I downloaded a patch for old CoD2 - and it cannot open that patch either! Does anyone know what is wrong? |
What is the file extension?
|
It just says "file" when i click "properties" :hmmm:
Edit: Other than that is shows no extension (they are not hidden) |
Also is it a boxed version or a Steam d/l?
If it's Steam it should auto-update when you visit the site. If it's boxed version patch, which site did you get it from? Where is the patch currently located? If it's on a usb stick or similar it may need moving to desktop. |
The patches are d/l'ed from the website of the games i.e callofduty.com and sigames.com - both boxed version.
Both the files are in the folder of the respective games. |
:hmmm: You've tried alternate download links?
in any case, it couldn't hurt to rename the file and add ''.exe'' at the end of the filename perhaps then it'll be recognized. I had this happen sometimes with .rar files. HunterICX |
well slap me and call me Amy! The .exe extension worked!
Thanks Hunter, you made my day a lot better! :salute: |
Happens regularly with patches for some reason. Had the same with Minecraft.
