Gameplay settings keep changing on me
 
I set the gameplay settings to 69%,and when I continue my campaign,they go back to 38%.Any ideas?

You need to apply when you are in the bunker, I think

You can only apply them when in the bunker. :)

What I did to solve the same issue was:
1. Set my desired options immediately after launching game.
2. Loading my save file in the bunker.
3. Setting my desired options again.
4. Sailing out, saving when at least 50 km away from any known point of AI activity (like a port).
5. Restarting the game.

After that they never changed on me again.

You can edit the realism settings at any time in your campaign by editing a .cfg in your SH5 folder created by the game in my documents.

C:\Users\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\gameplaysettings.c fg

And is it safe to change for example external camera setings from False to True mid-patrol? :hmmm:

Sure is. You can change them anytime.
