SH3 or SH4 Uboats?
I've had SH4 for a couple of years now and have the OpMonsun mod installed. I'm thinking of buying SH3 because I hear good reports about that sim even now. My idea would be to run my U-boat ops with SH3 and re-install SH4 with the TMO mod and run the fleet boat ops with that. Does this sound like a good idea or should I just stick with OpMonsun in SH4? I have the RSRD mod installed also and am able to run both fleet boat and U-boats with SH4 but I'm thinking by separating them I'd be specializing a little more and maybe have better play.
Thanx :) |
SH 3 with the GWX super mod installed will give you everything you are looking for imo. I think its fair to say that SH3 with GWX is recognised as the best of the series so far for the gameplay.
I would say go for it. |
Have not tried SH4 yet so I cannot give you a side by side comparison, but you can pickup a copy of SH3 for next to nothing so you have very little to lose.
I think you'll be hooked.:03: |

I have every series (Search my name to see many posts in each of them)
You will see just recently that I made a post that "IM BACK" And it seems for a great reason.. SH4 is a cool game, but it was lacking what GWX has and badly! (That was the reason GWX was coming to SH4) SH5 I won't even talk about.. People that are playing it right now, I just don't understand how.. I know they want to support the modders that are doing their best to mod such a horrible game, but to me my time is precious and if I am going to play a game at all.. It better be a GREAT game, not an OK game and especially not a CRAP game.. GWX=crysis for graphics to game play ( game play being key ) |
I'd suggest you give SH3 + GWX3.0 a spin and make your own mind up, especially as the game is so cheap to purchase and the supermod is free http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

If nothing else, Amazon has SH3, so there should be no problem :) |
