How to still hear game sound when game window is not focused on (alt-tabbed)?

I got Vista Home 64 bit, Realtek HD Audio Manager drivers for my integrated sound card (if this is of any relevance).

Have you tried running the game in a window?:hmmm: (no Alt-Tab needed)

I tried both, I'm running in a window right now. But when the focus goes to any other window, game mutes (it still runs though in the background, unlike full-screened one which pauses).

it's probably because when they setup DirectSound or whatever the newer sound API is now for DirectX in the C++ code they didn't specify 'exclusive use'.
