Aye, the darkest period for London and the cities, but a godsend for the RAF. That one lost bomber crew did us quite a few favours, but it would cost a lot of lives...however in the end it would strengthen further the British resolve to see the war through, no matter what.

A tough period indeed....but the consequence/effect on the civilian population was entirely the opposite expected by Hitler and Goering.
