Holly Cow you would not need to worry about escorts anymore. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Formula One for U-Boats. :D

change the settings in the sim file

My question is why?????

Gerald 09-08-10 09:06 PM

probably because he wants to travel a bit faster,

and as you know, there are always different tastes...

Madox58 09-08-10 09:47 PM

My question would be,
Why not?
:hmmm:
I've done things like this for testing.
I would not play the Game with this adjustment,
But no reason to dis a Guy for wanting to do it.

Gerald 09-08-10 09:50 PM

Well that's easily arranged,

:yep:

Just seems a tad weird to want a WWII Unterseeboot to go faster underwater than any surface ship can do at their best - offhand I can't think of any that went over 38-39 knots.

A pure curiosity question,

what speed to run with, :hmmm:

Madox58 09-08-10 10:15 PM

He is not asking to be correct as far as how fast a real Sub went.
If he wants his Sub to do 900 knots in his Game?
That is his choice.
We have no stance to tell him otherwise.
To attempt to do so?
Then we would have to put a limit on any and all Mods!
Are you really ready to get into that type debat?

Gerald 09-08-10 10:20 PM

Waste of time, if you ask me,

:lurk:

I agree with this. Some time ago I used XXI in sh3 from 1939 as a SSN sub with max undrwater speed of 42Kt. Max torp. launch depth for this toy was set up for 350m :O:. If he like to play for fun, this is his choice, nothing more.
But XXI equiped with reactor should have underwater speed close to the Skate class = about 18-19Kt.

In a previous post someone asked about increasing the max speed with diesels, only downside was fuel consumption skyrocketed. Would a type XXI have enough battery power to run at that speed for more than a few minutes? Would be a cool red button to mount somewhere in the command center, almost like NOS for a sub

Nice joke:rotfl2:If someone like to increase underwater speed to 45 kt should only upgrade power of the electric engines and disable limitted bateries option. 20000-35000 shp should be enough, and don't forget about noise.:rotfl2:

No one explains HOW to do it... lol

-EDIT:

This is my first time attempting to mod anything. And I figured it out. And now I know why people dont want them to have such a mod. It can be abused online. And virtually ruin the multiplayer part thats LEFT of this game...

But I personally believe they should be able to mod their own game in any way for single player fun. So, if you want it bad enough you can do some research on here and figure it out.
