Destroyer detect motionless sub (TMO)
How can a destroyer detect a montionless sub on silent running at periscope depth from 2000m? Weather is sunny, seas calm. I'm using TMO mod.

Hrm. Not sure. I missed the range when I read your post the first time.

the game likes to cheat and sometimes it finds you even when its totally unrealistic to do so.
unrealistic detection by the AI has been a long standing issue UBI has never fixed and not everything can be fixed by mods |
This seems to help tho ................

Normally, when my torpedos are detected, the escorts come charging towards me. With this fix, they'd just start slowly circling wherever they were. Curious to hear if anyone else had similar experiences. @shegeek72 Maybe your machinist dropped a big box of wrenches? Calm water will also greatly increase the enemies ability to detect you. If you haven't read it already, this explains how the AI works http://www.ducimus.net/sh415/ai.htm |

Being detected in this case may have occured: - if that partiuclar escorts sonar (pasive or active) was a better model then what is/was usual. - if you were spotted by a plane. (if they see you, they will notify units in the area) - Sea was REALLY REALLY calm, like 0 kt winds or something. That said, i made an easier AI modlet awhile ago for those who find themselves screaming BS: http://www.filefront.com/16748545/TMO-Easier-AI.7z/ This modlet is NOT compatible with the beta update to TMO 2.0 I "leaked" last week. |
