Base changed to brest problem
This has probably been asked before but oh well, When I start a patrol I get a pop-up saying base changed to breast then I start near Africa. after several patrols I transfer to a new base and I get the same pop-up. How do I fix this?

My game keeps doing the same, only with Wilhelmshaven. I still start at Lorient, so I hadn't looked into it.

You have to watch those typos. Mentioning "breast" in a room full of long-at-sea sailors could start a riot.

One reason you could be starting off of Africa is that you launched SH3 with SH3 Commander and subsequent starts were not launched using Commander but with just the SH3 app.
If you are in your career always start the game with commander if that is what you are using. |
IIRC this may be an issue with Commander and/or the game not knowing where to place you on the map at the start of a new patrol, because the base change is not being handled properly. So it puts you in a "default" location of 0° latitude and 0° longitude, which is off the coast of Africa.
Sorry I can't remember all the details about what exactly causes it and how to fix it - but somebody here will, because it's happened to other players and come up for discussion before. |

As already said, always start your career patrols with SH3 Commander if you are using it. It also has an option to start your patrol "at sea." This places your boat outside the harbour and expedites leaving base by reducng the numer of ship sightings that knock your time compression down to 1. |

I solved the issue by staying in a historically correct flotilla that agreed with the changes in GWX. It wasn't a SHCommander issue for me as I didn't start using the program until a couple of patrols after starting with GWX. |
It occurs to me that this thread would have been made quite awkward had it been called "Brest Removal". k That was bad.....
