errors using tvt editor
Hi guys. Summer is coming to an end up here in the GWN (Great White North) . So I hope to find time to do a little more gaming activities.
I was puttering with the TVT editor a few times lately. I can now delete objects :-) Selecting the object I want is a bit of hit and miss. I can even rotoate them around yeehaw. Anyways the problem I'm encountering is the editor keeps crashing back to windows. A lot. I'm running xppro, dual 3ghz and 4 gig of ram. Even though xp only recognises 3 :-( What I want to do though is delete or change the part that suddenly ends the game when objectives are met. |

Yes it is and I sure would like a mild winter to play TvT through. Anyway, the editor is really easy when you learn a few things about what it can do and what it can not do. For instance you what to continue to play after objectives are complete. That is done by editing in a text editor the mission file called "Mission.script". Find this line of code: sendEvent(2.0, SOID_MissionController, "Shutdown", []); Then make it look like this: // sendEvent(2.0, SOID_MissionController, "Shutdown", []); Use these" // " NOT THESE " \\ " Let me know if this is what you want and what mission you are wanting this in and maybe I could put a zone to drive through that will end the mission. Here is some help
This is the editor view on my system with Kursk Mission 3 loaded http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_A1.jpg Go up to the "Windows" menu and check " Objects " http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_A2.jpg Then in the Objects window click on the plus sign next to [Mission] http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_A3.jpg Then go down the list and click on a object name this will select it http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_A4.jpg If you double click it you will travel to it http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_A5.jpg Once selected you can manipulate it http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_A6.jpg And again select from the list http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_A7.jpg And double click and zoom all over the place. http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_A8.jpg More to come later ZW :salute: |
Hi Zeewolf.
I had not tried the windows menu. I'll try that. Have you at any time experienced crashes to desktop with the mission editor? |
Oh yeah, I have it crash all the time especially when doing the kind of editing
I do, but clearing the cache helps and just restarting the editor a couple of times clears the memory and if that do not do it I undo the changes I made. Here is another thing called the Clone tool http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k..._Editor_B9.jpg The object will be created in the middle of the screen so always have your camera angled down. So once you found where you want it: http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...Editor_B10.jpg Rename it. (A Tip: you can use the "InsertKey" instead of selecting clone from the menu too) http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...Editor_B11.jpg http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...Editor_B12.jpg Then go to the properties menu while new Object is selected and ad so new numbers, Kill rings and Division markings etc. :know: http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...Editor_B14.jpg http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...Editor_B15.jpg Take your time and enjoy!:salute: ZW |
what'sa "kill ring"?
I've been deleting stuff (the dead truck and tank also the tanks that just sit doing nothing at the start point. And the soldiers) from the CCP Recon mission. With hopes that FPS might increase. I have not added anything yet. I have not figured out the waypoint system. |

Well. I found the file you suggested. But could not find the line of code.....
The mission I've been playing about with is from a stock install. Russian recon mission. I'm not butchering your work ;-) I have the editor manual printed out. So I hope to study up an waypoint and triger editing next. H'mmm My avatar seems a little large..... |
