The Most Interesting Man in the World in Das Boot?

I was watching Das Boot recently and the officer that walks into the bar with Thomsen looks alot like the guy from the Dos Equis commercials. If so, I would agree that he IS the most interesting man in the world.

Sadly, no.

The Dos Equis guy is played by American actor Jonathan Goldsmith. Das Boot does not appear among his credits. However he was in a couple episodes of CHiPs around about that time. :D

You are a wealth of information! :)

Why yes, yes I am, because I totally didn't just google "the most interesting man in the world" and then look him up on the IMDb. :O:

Don't know about that - but just possibly the one who can type things into Google the fastest. :D

The thing is, you can google a word and get pages of results and still not know which ones are going to give you the answers you're looking for. But someone who knows a little something about what you're asking, even if they don't have the exact answer immediately at hand, may be able to do a more specific search and get quicker and more pertinent results. Or they may know exactly where to go to find the most concise answer.

So much information is on the internet - usually the trick is just knowing how and where to find it while not wasting time poring through stuff that seems relevant but turns out not to be on closer examination.

TBH half the time when someone raises a question that I don't already know the answer to, it piques my own curiosity and I'm looking up the info just to satisfy that. And then if I find it - well, why not share? I figure I've been saved a lot of time and effort by other people doing exactly that, so it's only fair to return the favor if I can.

And people like you a whole lot more when you do that than when you say something like "I looked it up. Why don't you!" :stare:

True, but every time you say it I'm reminded of this:
