How the Japanese Navy has fallen...

Oh dear...

To think these were once the guys who bombed Pearl, conquered half the Pacific and and fought to the last man in the largest naval battle in modern history... :nope:

Do you know how nuclear capable the Japanese navy is?

ETR3(SS) 08-20-10 10:09 PM

Japan is adamantly anti-nuclear. So it's safe to say they have no nuclear powered vessels.

I have to agree, they have no nuclear powered vessels. But it doesn't mean the Japanese aren't nuclear capable.

Well they do have 55 reactors for power throughout the country. Funny though as they get pissy whenever one of our nuc boats docks in their country.:hmmm:

War is terrible and when u engage in one you better fight to win and nothing less.

Japan went to war with excessive pride and spread her err everywhere in Asia. It was not just military invasion but also conquest of religions and cultures.

. . . and they lost the war . . .and paid a heavy price for it.

Much of the same thing happened to Germany which is quite anti militarism.

They've learned a lesson. They both had been subdued militarily.

I suspect they both will forget about them soon enough with newer generations having no experience of the terrible war.

Power and constraint(control) MUST go together. US has survived because they've exercised constraint over their power. Had they went by way of Germany and Japan did during second world war post 1945 they too would've been defeated. I'm sure of that. Deterrence is better than fighting.

Japan is not the only country that has just,

the right to deny boarding to other countries naval nuke ship, there are plenty of them, even if they have power plant, double moral!

Yeah, Italy is another one of those. Although last I knew they didn't have any reactors built, but they were looking into it.

Italy used to have about half a dozen reactors, but they shut the power station reactors down years ago and only retained the research reactors in operation.
