Iran commisions 4 new subs

Evidently Iran has built and commissioned 4 new submarines.

It is pretty hard to get a sense of scale from the picture but they look pretty small.

Small, but they have 2 torp tubes

Smaller maybe better in the gulf. With only two tubes and limited re-loads ASW forces will be pinging away from word go. And the gulf convergence zones aren't like open ocean.

Thanks! because you shared the pictures,

no greater power,I guess they have better back-up from the supply ship instead....

Yes two fish or four mines. Then again they can't go much farther than a few hundred miles or so.

Consider them the equivalent of the old German Type XXIII U Boat.

Can they take nuke Eels?

Iran is a decade or more from a nuke that can fit in a torpedo. Right now they and North Korea are at the "Fat man" and "Little Boy" stage.

I dunno...stick the bomb on the sub itself.... :hmmm: If there's enough room :haha:

Still, the drums are beating. :hmmm:

Should do well in the littoral zone.

If they striped out the torpedo tubes, head, some of the computers- basically the whole forward compartment, they might.

This boat is so small you can not stand up inside, amazingly they cram around 6 guys in it.
