Iran commisions 4 new subs
Evidently Iran has built and commissioned 4 new submarines.
It is pretty hard to get a sense of scale from the picture but they look pretty small. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/...lt-submarines/ |
Looks like, small midget sub, are they really from the country
I :hmmm:

Small, but they have 2 torp tubes http://theasiandefence.blogspot.com/...ew-ghadir.html |
Smaller maybe better in the gulf. With only two tubes and limited re-loads ASW forces will be pinging away from word go. And the gulf convergence zones aren't like open ocean.

Thanks! because you shared the pictures,

Yea they commissioned some more Ghadirs. Its a North Korean design. Iran has around 7.
EDIT: hehe thats whats on my sig... |
I read that they only took two Eels,

Yes two fish or four mines. Then again they can't go much farther than a few hundred miles or so.
Consider them the equivalent of the old German Type XXIII U Boat. |
Can they take nuke Eels?

Iran is a decade or more from a nuke that can fit in a torpedo. Right now they and North Korea are at the "Fat man" and "Little Boy" stage.

Good, then I can sleep well tonight,

I dunno...stick the bomb on the sub itself.... :hmmm: If there's enough room :haha:
Still, the drums are beating. :hmmm: |

This boat is so small you can not stand up inside, amazingly they cram around 6 guys in it. |
