FileFront problems downloading

This is becoming most frustrating, it's unfortunate that most modders still use FileFront to upload their mods, and every now and then I can download some of the stuff but most times not!!:damn:
For some reason, and it doesn't matter if I'm logged in or not, I get to the "Download" button ok but pressing this just opens to a new page of filefront.com home page, does this over and over!:nope:
Is there some sort of trick to getting the download or is everyone else having the same problems?:hmmm:

Same problem here, occasionally it works as advertised but other times it just leads me to the homepage! :damn:

This sounds like a classic server problems,

and what I have gone close, they have quite often problems,in normal cases, this was of course second server takes over if the others go down...

They must physically be turning one off and then walking to another server in another building and booting it up... happening too often and too long to be a simple switch! :wah:

True! Sounds like logistics,

or have they simply not a priority,to another backup, which, unfortunately, customers will suffer for and then you can easily get tired,

Oh well! it doesn't help much but at least it's not my system!
Thanks.

Try mediafire. :yeah:
http://www.mediafire.com/

I was looking for a host here in NZ and was blown away how there is not one available. Well i found one but it had a 100mb limit. lol.

I've been having problems with file integrity too... Had to redownload some files and they still kept coming up with errors. Finally just went for an overnight torrent. :shifty:

Personally i've never had very many problems with filefront.

But i'll tell you why i use it, almost exclusively.

EASE OF USE.

By the time im finally done with whatever i'm working on. I want to kick it out the door the most expedient method possible, because by the time im to that point, im sick of looking at it.

With some of the various filehosting sites, I'm either:

a.) Putting up with a assload of popup adds.

b.) Have to remember some insane security ruleset for my password. IE You password Mu5t_L00k_l1k3_Th15 because it demands alphanumeric, some capitalization, and must be double digits in length. Like im going to remember this password?

c.) Must Email SO and so, must wait X days for a response, then you have to go and set up some FTP and jump through some hoop or what not.. ...ehhh..... did i mention im already sick of looking at this mod?

Then there's filefront. No insidious number of popup adds. I can set my password how i like it, no emailing required, just login, start the upload, and walk away from the computer for a couple hours, and i'm done!

gotta go with ducimus here, ease of use oytways minor delays.

IMO there are certain times of the day that filefront goes spastic (time zones vary) so i just avoid those times and i never have issues.

if your having trouble try again later but if one download is corrupted then your next one will likely be corrupted too so go shopping or play a session of the game then retry at another time and in most cases its fine.

No mate it's definitely not your system.

I've had quite a few problems recently (over 80 files d/l empty with 0bytes).

I put in a ticket and there tech dept. were excellent and very quick to respond.

All of my files are back online but about 6 of them come without the '.exe' extension.

I re-opened my ticket and they are looking into it.

1) Well, I have a laugh about you having a FileFront directory of mods in your signature and still complaining about it. You know what I mean? :03:

2) SHMF is still open for anyone who wishes to, just click my signature. But even though I invite modders to join and maintain their release threads themselves, it's only a few who chooses to, and well, I only choose to maintain a few mods for the benefit of many on my own. I cannot keep up with the diverse productivity of many people anymore.

3) Regarding downloading from FileFront or any other host for that matter, then just use JDownloader, the best free download manager available:

Interesting I didn't think it allowed download accelerators! Might have to give that one a go!:yep:
Edit: Well I tried that and is worse than FF to get the application, pressing "free download" does nothing but open a new window for an ad, no download!!:stare:

Okay, I have put the setupfile on mediafire, try get it from there then:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?f4ej6q9p8cuu7gd
It's the windows version

And yes, just copy the FF link or any other host link to the clipboard, and enable the clipboard reading, then it works fine. I never use any other DM anymore.
