Ah, Texas

Wonderful, wonderful Texas!!!

I do hope you enjoy the higher taxes you pay to house this dangerous criminal (and others like him) for the next half-century plus!!!

Does Texas still have the 'tax free day'?

As for the OP, I agree with Reason's take on the matter. This is silly. Worse, it's counterproductive. I haven't looked yet today, but I'm sure somebody has a thread about Mexico looking at legalization because the Drug War is so destructive and ineffective.

GoldenRivet 08-13-10 05:52 PM

If your going to drive around with dope in your car

move to California

i say - hell... give him 3 life sentences on grounds of general stupidity.

Id rather pay the tax in Texas for this one man's life in prison than have to pay Federal Tax for the life of 100 million men on the street :yep:

agreed... he has appeals. I suggest he use them wisely.

then, in the future he should make better decisions.

Platapus 08-14-10 09:32 PM

I am a little confused.

This guy had BOTH MJ and Hashish is that correct?

Even if the MJ was for medical purposes and obtained legally in CA, that does not excuse the Hashish (which to my understanding is NOT prescribed for medical purposes).

Does not sound like an innocent victim to me. And then there is the notebook/cell phone evidence.

Clearly the article was written from the viewpoint of being against the Texas drug laws. However, Texas drug laws are Texas Drug laws. :yep:

If you don't like the drug laws in Texas, that is one more reason not to go to Texas. But if you do go to Texas, you will be under Texas laws, like em or not. :yep:.
