Water Texture

Ahoy mates,

Is it just me or does the water appear to look like dippity doo hair gel when looking through the periscope sometimes? Drives me crazy, seems to thick looking and the movement of the waves seems off. Anyone else find this annoying to? Is there a mod for the strange water?
