Exploding Destroyers
Playing TMO 2.0 out of Pearl Early 1942 just been upgraded to an early Gato.
I decide to head down to Wake and then Truk to do some late night harbour sinking. Wake goes fine so I push on to Truk at enhanced time. As get towards Truk my computer starts to slow down and down and down like its really struggling with somthoing. Note I'm playing on the latest i7 quad core Dell with 16 GB Ram so this is very odd. Evenutally after couple of minutes it clears itself and i'm sat off Truk just north of the island. As i move in there are 4 destroyers burning in the water like they have just dentonated. Move in closer still and there is an intact Merchant. Next thing the game hangs. Tried variuos permutations of approach waiting, surface, pericope etc and the same thing happens after every reload. In the end reloaded and sailed of the Guam and had no problems. Anyone got any ideas please. |

Hi
And thanks for the link. I take it that the mod update he is talking about isn't out yet so I just need to give Truk a wide berth until then |
Yup, just avoid truck for now.
I gotta say, i laughed my ass off when i saw what was causing the slowdowns. |

What?
A DD graveyard !!! Interesting fixation on ... useless (?) detail ...:hmmm: . |
No, a boo boo to speed in the scripting of a random group entry.
|
frankly the game always lags when theres a convoy nearby, which lets me know before i even get a radar signal.
