[TEC] Lowered Ambient Sub Interior Sound
Maybe its just my rig, or my speakers, but amb_SubmarineInterior.wav inside data\sound is just oppressive with the ambient "noise" if that's what you call it.
Googling "edit .wav files" i found an open source program called Audacity. 1. Opened file with audacity, 2. Ctrl-A to select all 3. Theres a slider for +/- dB on the left of the selected sample, bring it down to taste, however it will play slightly lower in game than windows, so don't go too low. 4. File->Export as WAV... 5. Save it to desktop or w/e 6. Modfolder it for JGME and install. 7. Enjoy being able to hear electric engines, and goodbye unsettling annoying noise. PS maybe someone has already done this, but i didnt find it. Also, you can do the same for ambienthydrophone.wav as well, but more than a few decibles is probably too much. |

Yes I know what you mean, I have to do the same. Makes you wonder though just what sort of nose these sailors had to put up with |
they went deaf i bet. This is one instance of realism i'm happy to do without.
