How many want to see a regular updaterard list, over the mods, tools!

Members of this forum is in some cases, disgruntled over the links at ease and to other tools, is not functioning properly, some links are 'dead' or has just stopped, for various reasons,so to go fairly straightforward, there is an interest here to access a list of, available links over current mods and utilities.

Note: Option 4,I use only original, but comfortable!

I maintained so-called "resources"-threads as stickies in the tank forum until last year. They have a hit quote of betwen 10 and 20 thousand so I assume the interest for more popular sims in this forum (navy, subs) possibly is at least as high, probably much higher.

Somebody just has to take the work upon himself to add all hints and infos into just one posting that he then updates regularly. A simple thread where just everybody throws in postings with links, becomes scattered and a pain to wade through very quickly. ;) Nobody wants to read through ten pages if he wants one link to one special item.

Automatic update link? Sound slike another google to me. I think that is not realistic. If you maintain such a list, you must face it and once per quarter click the links and check them all by yourself, replacing or deleting those no longer working. The maintenance does not get done all by itself, you know.

Because I don't think Neal has the time and interest to program a new search engine just for this purpose you outline. ;)

Firstly, you have not answered my question why it is not realistic, which is now mentioned the earlier in your message. Why should I have a purpose for my own sake overcome,? No it's not my style, and then if you already have a preconceived view on how the programs or search engines, you should make sure you have a better understanding of what opportunities there may be was with the idea for the members in this forum, and it is ridiculous to hear that it is for my "purpose you outline".How it goes with this, let Neal determine the possible continuation.

To program a complete new search engine for a specified taks of finding all by itself some mods for some minor niche games, is no easy task, nor does it appear to me that the result justifies the investment in time and effort (if it even can be done, what I doubt, because there is no convention how mods for the games you want should be marked and named by the authors). Note that thgere are mod collections and lists on such mods on the web for various game ganres - but none of them does maintain itself automatically, like you want it. they have been collected by somebody, by searchinbg, asking, and having received links by helping minds, and then such lists get updated - or not.

So yes, your expectation is unrealistic, most probably, and yes, I have answered both your original and your follow up question. And I think I now do not want any longer, since you turn a bit too aggressive for my taste. A solution how you can acchieve the result you want with just a minimum of regular maintencance, I have hinted at. And it is a proven and economic solution, which I know for sure becasue I maintained those quoted resources myself - for four years until last Decembre. ;)
