Ok... I know what it is, question is: do you?

I'm going to be cheeky here and say Project 705K...primarily because that's what's on the url. :hmmm:
Bow looks all wrong but that could just be camouflage against western intel. |
Well I can't identify it outright but I can tell you what I see in the picture. First thing is the vessel is being launched. Next is the Russian lettering/words on the bow. The sail is of a Sierra class look. It's not very large leading me to believe that it's an attack sub. The unusual bow shape is confusing, but I believe that it may be part of the launching and not part of the boat. I'll take a stab here anyways and say it's a Sierra.
Edit: never mind, my guess is wrong. I found the source page for the pics. |
Kind of looks like K-27 to me, which was the sole Project 645 boat, a lengthed version of the November with a bulbous sonar bow and taller fairwater. The stubby rudder is a bit of a give-away, too...just don't quote me on this!

Yea they say it was not effective. A friend totally agrees with that! He said he never saw any photos like that published in regards to the Alfa so it was a total failure. :03: |
Ooooh, very nice source there...very nice indeed :yeah:

The submarine in my bathtub is much better :smug:
|
I presume your bath-tub submarine doesn't suffer from the reactor coolant solidifying then? :hmmm:
|
