Can be able to start in the middle of 44? I remember TMO/FOTRS have the option to start in the beginning and middle of 42, 43, 44 and only the beginning of 45, I was wondering if there's a similar one in RFB...

You'll have to do it yourself I'm afraid, by editing the CareerStart file in Data/ UPCData/UPCCampaignData.


Unless you want to use RSRD.
That'll give you plenty of Start Dates to chose from.

Seriously, there is only one obligatory mod, IMO—RSRDC. All the problems with stock SH4 are noise compared to how truly awful the stock campaign is (vs how truly great RSRDC is—I used to have a campaign mod, but stopped supporting it when it was bettered so completely by RSRDC).

Meh, let's say I'm trying out RFB before adding RSRSC in, to enhanced my gameplay...

The stock campaign is abysmal.

It has no redeeming features. The special missions are absurd. The groups of ships either have too many escorts of too good a type, or they do nothing at all. The ship choices... boggle the mind. There are something like 60 akizukis at sea during the start of the war. Nice considering there were zero in RL.

Truly horrible. Do yourself a favor, try RSRDC.
